Himalayas Rescue Association (HRA), Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (TRPAP) and local VDC of Rasuwa and Langtang National Park jointly organized a training program on Mountain safety for mountain guides and porters from March 30-31 in Dhuche. A program was organized realizing the importance of porters and mountain guides in the mountain tourism development of the country. Many porters and guides face threats of Acute Mountain Sickness and other mountainous hazards during their course of trekking in the Nepalese Mountains. The training was conducted to educate porters and guides about the possible threats in the mountains and to apply safety measures to prevent them. The orientations wee given on Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), Frost bite, snow blindness etc including health educational first aid training, diarrhea, HIV Aids, wild animals. Separate classes were conducted to educate the participants on environment and bio-diversity conservation.Thursday, December 17, 2009
